ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT, 2001 (ACT No. XX 2001)
Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2003
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 9, 10 (2) of the Environment Protection Act, 2001, the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment has made the following regulations>–
1. (1) The title of these regulations is the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2003 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Protection of Birds and Wild Rabbit Regulations, 1993, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations.”
(2) These regulations shall come into force on the 29th
August, 2003.
2. Immediately after sub-regulation (8) of regulation 2A of the principal regulations there shall be added the following>–
“(9) The Minister shall consider the list of specially protected birds recommended by the Ornis Committee under paragraph (n) of subregulation (6) of this regulation and if he approves the list such list shall be published as Schedule VII to these regulations.”.
3. In the proviso to subregulation (3) of regulation 25 instead of the words “in the list referred to in sub-paragraph (n) of paragraph (6) of regulation 2B” there shall be substituted the words “in Schedule VII to these regulations.”
4. Immediately after Schedule VI to the principal regulations there shall be added the following new Schedule VII>–

Adds new Schedule VII to the principal regulations.
