MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT (CAP. 234)Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations, 2009

IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 374 of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications has made the following regulations:

1973, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.

(a) for the words “Approval of an international owner as a person qualified to own a Maltese ship………..232 and 116 annually thereafter” there shall be substituted the following:
“Approval of an international owner as a person qualified to own a Maltese ship …………… 250 and 125 annually thereafter”; and
(b) for the item “Issue of certificate of insurance or other financial security in respect of civil liability for oil pollution damage…….46” there shall be substituted the following –
“Issue of certificate of insurance or other financial security in respect of either civil liability for oil pollution damage or civil liability for bunker oil pollution damage in respect of a ship registered in Malta
