MALTA TRANSPORT AUTHORITY ACT (CAP. 332)
Motor Vehicles (Tariff of Fares) (Amendment ) Regulations, 2005
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 32 of the Malta Transport Authority Act, the Minister for Urban Development and Roads has, after consultation with the Malta Transport Authority, made the following regulations>-
1. (1) The title of these regulations is the Motor Vehicles (Tariff of Fares) (Amendment) Regulations, 2005, and they shall be read and construed as one with the Motor Vehicles (Tariff of Fares) Regulations,
1982, hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”.
(2) These regulations shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st January, 2005.
2. In the First Schedule to the principal regulations -
(a) for paragraph 2 there shall be substituted the following> “Children between the ages of 3 and 10 shall only pay a
fare of 10 cents when travelling within one Fare Stage and a
fare of 15 cents when travelling within the Zones described in Part I B to this Schedule and shall be entitled to occupy a seat.”<
(b) in paragraph 3(1)(a), after the words “and to students attending schools or other recognised educational establishments” there shall be added the words “who do not qualify for the student maintenance grant given under the Post Secondary and Tertiary Students Maintenance Grant Regulations, 1999,”<
(c) in the English text of paragraph 7, for the word “gasses”
there shall be substituted the word “passes”<
(d) in paragraph 9, for the words “and Part 1E” there shall be substituted the words “Part 1E, Part IF and Part 1G”<

B to this Schedule.”<

Direct Circular Services
Direct Circular Services are those direct trips which operate from various outlying termini to St Julian’s#Sliema via Tal-Qroqq or vice versa.
For each trip from outlying terminus to St Julian’s
or vice versa …………………………………………………35c
Provided that the fare to be paid by children aged 3 to 10 years for the said trips shall be 25 cents<
Provided further that the fare to be paid for the trip from an outlying terminus to Tal-Qroqq or vice versa shall be 30c<
Provided further that for that part of the trip which falls under a zone as outlined in Part 1B of Table 1 to this Schedule, the fare to be charged shall be 20 cents.
