VETERINARY SERVICES ACT, 2001 (ACT NO. XXIII OF 2001)
Undesirable Substances in Animal Feeds (Amendment) Rules, 2007
IN exercise of the powers conferred by article 22(c) of the Veterinary Services Act, 2001, the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment has made the following rules>–
1. (1) The title of these regulations is the Undesirable
Substances in Animal Feeds (Amendment) Rules, 2005.
(2) The scope of these rules is to implement the provisions found under Commission Directive 2005#8#EC of 27th January, 2005 amending Annex I to Directive 2002#32#EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on undesirable substances in animal feed and they shall be read and construed as one with as Undesirable Substances in Animal Feeds Rules, 2005, herinafter referred to as “the principal rules”.
2. Schedule I to the principal regulations shall be amended as follows>–
(a) In column 2 of row 2, Lead, the following footnote is inserted after the word “green fodder”>
“(*) green fodder includes products intended for animal feed such as hay, silage, fresh grass, etc …”<
(b) in row 3, Fluorine,
(i) Footnotes (1) and (2) are deleted<
(ii) The words “Mineral mixtures for cattle, sheep and goats – 2 000 (1)” and “Other complementary feedingstuffs
– 125 (2)” are substituted by the words “Complementary feedingstuffs containing £ 4 % phosphorus – 500” and “Complementary feedingstuffs containing › 4 % phosphorus–
125 per 1 % phosphorus” respectively< and
(c) row 4, Mercury, is substituted as follows>
