AL-HAJ PENSION ACT 1971
An Act to provide for the pension and privileges of Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj upon his retirement from the office of Prime Minister of Malaysia.
[Throughout Malaysia--30 April 1971]
BE IT ENACTED by the Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the advice and consent of the Dewan Negara and Dewan Rakyat in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al- Haj Pension Act 1971.
Act 237
2. Notwithstanding the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act 1980 [Act 237] or any other law pertaining to the pensions and gratuities of Members of the Administration, Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj shall, on his retirement from the office of Prime Minister of Malaysia, be entitled to the following pension and privileges:
(a) a tax free gratuity of RM200,000;
(b) a pension of four thousand ringgit shall be payable monthly on the first day of each month;
(c) a furnished residence shall be provided and
maintained free of charge;
(d) a government motor-car and a driver shall be
provided; and

(e) a secretary, a clerk-cum-stenographer, a security officer and an office boy shall also be provided at current government rates.
Pension and privileges under this Act additional to any allowance or privileges, if any
3. The pension and privileges set out in section 2 shall be additional to any allowance or other privileges due to him under any law relating to remuneration of Members of Parliament or the Legislative Assembly of any State.
Payment out of Consolidated Fund
4. Any expenditure incurred under section 2 shall be paid out of the Consolidated Fund.
Repeal
5. The Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance No. 50, 1970 is hereby repealed.
