2. Section 10 of the Holidays Act, No. 29 of 1971 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal enactment" is hereby .amended by the repeal of subsection (2) thereof, and the substitution therefor, of the following subsection: "

| | (a) Every Order made under subsection (1) (a) shall apply to the whole of Sri Lanka or such part thereof 39 is specified in such Order, and.1 shall come into force, or be deemed to have come into force, on such date as is specified therein, whether such date is a date before or after the date of publication of such Order in the Gazette. | | |
| | (b) Every Order made under subsection (1) (b) shall come into force upon the dale of its publication in the Gazette or on such later date as may be specified therein. ". | | |
