7. Section 12 of the principal enactment is hereby amended as follows :-
| (1) in subsection (1) of that section, by the substitution, for the words " prepare, in English, and according to the requirements of the area, in Sinhalese or in Tamil or both in Sinhalese and In Tamil, ", of the words " prepare in the language of the majority and, where the language of the majority is not the official language of Ceylon, in such official language and, where there is a language of the minority, in such language of the minority, " ; and |

| (2) by the insertion, immediately after subsection (3) of that section, of the following new subsection :-
