54. Section 61 of the principal enactment is hereby repealed and the following section substituted therefor: -

| | (1) The returning officer shall make arrangements for counting the votes in the presence of the counting agents as soon as possible after the close of the poll, and shall give notice in writing of the time and places at which the count of the votes will be commenced, to the secretary or the authorized agent of a recognized political party or the group leader of an independent group contesting that election. | | |
| | (2) The returning officer shall, before he proceeds to declare the result of an election under section 65, give notice in writing to the secretary or the authorized agent of a- recognized political party or the ground lender of an independent group contesting that election of the time and place at which the result will be declared.". | | |
