(1) Every person who erects or constructs or causes to be erected or constructed any building or work over any public sewer without the written consent of the Board first obtained, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction after trial before a Magistrate to a fine not exceeding one hundred rupees, and, in the case of a continuing offence, to an additional fine not exceeding twenty-five rupees for each day during which the offence is continued after a conviction thereof. |

(2) The Board may cause any building or work referred to in subsection (1), which is erected or constructed without its consent, to be demolished, altered or otherwise brought into conformity with the provisions of this Law; and the expenses thereby incurred shall be paid by the person who has erected or constructed or caused the erection or construction of such building or work, and in case of default shall be recoverable as a sewerage charge. |
